The acquisition and growth of the Gordon Biersch brand over the last decade has brought the company to its current size of 38 restaurants located in 19 states across the United States. Other brands operated by the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Group include Big River Grille and Brewery, Rock Bottom Restaurant Brewery, Seven Bridges Grille and Brewery, A1A Ale Works and Ragtime Tavern and Seafood Grill, and Bluewater Grille.

It all started with the dream of two passionate guys named Dan Gordon and Dean Biersch. This dream of hand crafted beer and food using the freshest ingredients became a reality on July 6, 1988 when the first Gordon Biersch opened in Palo Alto, California. Acquired by Big River Brewing Company in 1999, Gordon Biersch now has 29 locations in 19 states and Washington D.C. The Gordon Biersch heritage of superior beer, great food and good times are now served up fresh daily in locations stretching coast to coast and across the Pacific to Honolulu.

Throughout the 19th century, the great riverboats of the Mississippi and Tennessee Rivers brought the freshest and finest goods from our nation's heartland to cities along its banks. Big River Grille & Brewing Works was born out of a passion for fresh, hand crafted beer and premium, made from scratch regional cuisine. Our original location in Chattanooga, Tennessee is located in a historic trolley barn, just steps away from Ross's Landing. Along the Tennessee River, in days gone by, it was here that fresh grains and produce were offloaded for use by local merchants including mills, markets and of course - breweries. At Big River Grille & Brewing Works, the riverboat's heritage is echoed in our award-winning lagers and ales and innovative menu. Our onsite brewery, extraordinary regional cuisine, and warm and friendly service deliver a fun and deliciously entertaining experience you will enjoy.

Inspired by our renowned Florida seafood restaurants, Ragtime Tavern Seafood & Grill and A1A Ale Works, Bluewater Grille brings our passion for the freshest seafood possible to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Handpicked by our team of chefs in St. Augustine, Florida, each fish selection is delivered fresh to Chattanooga.

For over 20 years, Ragtime Tavern has been a local favorite that has earned numerous accolades for it's creative cuisine, expertly handcrafted beers, outstanding service and lively atmosphere. Beginning in 1983 as a small neighborhood meeting place with only 12 tables and a single bar, Ragtime has since grown into one of Jacksonville's hottest spots. Located in Southside Jacksonville, just a short walk from the Tinsel Town movie theatres, Seven Bridges serves a wide variety of fresh seafood, steaks, chicken, salads and pizza.
